Adjustable line of draw on universal abutment??
-
Hi Shawn,
I have a case where budget is limited and the periodontist supplied universal abutments no charge to me or patient. Case is 22-27 with canines being the abutments. They dont look like they have a perfect line of draw. I know in the crown design in exocad, it will block out certain undercuts in bridge design and fabrication to allow for a line of insertion. Will it do the same if the two abutments are not paralell or would i have to place the abutments in and then scan the arch and just treat it like they are prepared teeth?
Thanks again

I would design the abutments with the same path of draw so you have minimal undercuts.

@drpete you can accomplish line of draw abutments by using the ‘telescopic coping’ design. When you free-form the abutments with that job definition, DentalCAD won’t allow you to add any undercuts. The abutments are perfectly parallel to whatever insertion axis you define.
