Hi all , hope someone can help. I’m trying to create a design with an unprepared model so I can supply a PMMA provisional bridge so the dentist can prep the teeth and fit the bridge as long term provisional. I have watched all the videos on site regarding provisional but cannot fine one that shows pontics being made with the bridge. The cases on the site dont show any pontic just temp shell crowns
Yes! That’s exactly right. Since there’s no tooth for the pontic, you wouldn’t select eggshell. Select pontic waxup for the pontic and activate connectors to the neighboring teeth (eggshell provisionals).
Hmmmm. I’ve had that happen sometimes as well. DentalCAD didn’t finish the waxup construction and exits wizard mode. It was fixed when I was in expert mode, then went to the expert toolbar at the bottom and clicked “merge waxup” (or something like that). Then DentalCAD finished and constructs the waxup.
Honestly, a lot of DentalCAD functionality can be performed in other CAD programs, especially meshmixer. Sure, you CAN do it in meshmixer, but it’s a ton more work. DentalCAD just automates a lot of those workflows. Take tooth segmentation, for example. DentalCAD does it automatically with one button click. You CAN do it in meshmixer in a much more tedious fashion.
